How Undelete Deleted Files works
Undelete Deleted Files helps you to undelete accidentally deleted files from a hard drive, flash drive, sd card, memory card, usb drive, memory stick and other removable drives. Undelete Deleted Files allows you to undelete files that have been deleted using the 'Delete' or 'Shift + Delete' Windows option or after emptying the Recycle Bin
The 'Scan' option can detect deleted files on a hard drive or removable drive within minutes creating a list of deleted files (including the file name, original path and last modified date if possible) that can be sorted by file name, type, size, date, path, etc
The 'Recover' module allows you to undelete deleted files as well as their original names, paths leading to files and the original modified date. If a file has been partially overwritten, Undelete Deleted Files will try to partially recover its content.

Undelete files from a hard drive, flash drive, SD card, memory card and USB drive
Undelete deleted files software
Undelete Deleted Files allows you to recover important documents and files, which could have been lost by accidental deletion. These files could be accidentally deleted after emptying the Recycle Bin, or using deletion actions that bypass the Recycle Bin.
Undelete Deleted Files provides an easy way to:
- Undelete files deleted using the 'Delete' and 'Shift + Delete' Windows option
- Undelete files even if you emptied the Recycle Bin
- Undelete files deleted using the command prompt
Why it is possible to undelete deleted files
When a file is deleted from your computer using the 'Delete' button and even if you empty the Recycle Bin or format your hard drive, it is not really deleted. Windows doesn't really delete files from your hard drive, removable disks, USB drive, flash drives, memory sticks, memory cards, picture cards, etc. This operation just removes the references to files but the files still exist as Windows doesn't immediately overwrite the space from the deleted files and it is possible to undelete deleted files. Even though you cannot see the file, the content of the deleted file still remains on the drive, until this section of the drive is overwritten by another file.
Note: if you deleted files using Delete Files Permanently, it is not possible to undelete deleted files.
With Undelete Deleted Files you can:
undelete deleted files from computers
undelete deleted files from USB drives
undelete deleted files from a flash drive
undelete deleted files from cameras
undelete deleted files from a memory card
How to increase the chance of files recovery
To increase the chance of files recovery, you should immediatelly stop writing data to the drive with the lost data as new data could overwrite the files you need to undelete.
If you need to undelete files on your system drive, you should avoid all computer activities that may directly or indirectly write new data on the system drive as it could cause overwriting the lost data and reduce chances of recovery:
- Disconnect the computer from the Internet or a LAN
- Stop using the computer in any way - close all running programs (email clients, browsers, programs running in the background such as instant messaging, anti-virus software, Windows Automatic Updates, etc.)
- Avoid installing new software (including Undelete Deleted Files) on any drive on the computer as in this case the system disk will be used indirectly
- Don't burn data to CD or DVD drives as while burning data Windows creates temporary files and the system disk is in use
- Don't save undeleted files to the same drive
Where you should save undeleted files
To increase the chance of files recovery, you must never save undeleted files to the drive that contains the files you want to undelete, as it could overwrite the data you need to undelete. You should save the undeleted files to a different drive (external drive, USB drive, memory stick, etc).

How to permanently delete files beyond recovery
Need to permanently delete files from your computer, removable disks, USB drives, memory sticks and picture cards beyond recovery?
If you deleted files, emptied the Recycle Bin or formatted your hard drive, deleted files are not completely deleted from your computer.
DELETE FILES PERMANENTLY enables you to permanently delete files and wipe free space without any chance of recovery
Delete Files Permanently implements 14 secure deleting files methods including Peter Gutmann, U.S. DoD 5220.22-M, DoD 5220.22-M (E), DoD 5220.22-M(ECE), Canadian RCMP TSSIT OPS-II, German VSITR, Bruce Schneier, US Army AR380-19, NAVSO P-5239-26 etc.
Delete Files Permanently changes files and folders names, files size and files date (creation/last modify/last access) so it is impossible to find the original names, size and dates of deleted files.
